The Kansas Department of Transportation donated the “VMI Tract” to the City of Manhattan in April 2019. The site is a 99-acre parcel on the north side of Highway K-18, east of the Scenic Meadows subdivision. The city currently envisions developing the property for trail access and open space park uses. A future park master plan will determine the type of amenities desired by the community and costs associated with any land improvements.
