This sports park was dedicated in 1936 by a city resolution as a "fine modern stadium." At its dedication, the facility, surrounded by an 8-foot native stone wall, was state of the art and has provided for thousands of hours of community entertainment in the enclosed football and baseball fields.
Over the years, the facility has gone through numerous modifications and improvements and continues to host some of the community's most wholesome entertainment. Hundreds of families gather to watch children participate in youth sports activities here each year.
Recent modifications have enhanced safety and improved the participants' sporting experience. Among these changes are irrigated playing fields, new fencing, electronic scoreboards, and new dugouts.
