Therapeutic Recreation (Youth)

We are extending our programs for developmentally and intellectually disabled children ages 5 to 15, who choose not to participate in the integrated recreation programs. These programs will provide the opportunity for the children to learn from experienced instructors, socialize with peers, all while trying new things in an appropriate and safe setting. Easter Egg Hunt

Work with friends to find eggs and complete the puzzle and receive prizes! It's sure to be an Easter egg hunt that will meet everyone's needs!

Summertime Picnic

Spend an afternoon eating delicious foods, playing, drawing on sidewalks and more with your friends in Therapeutic Rec!

Friday Fun Nights

This Friday Fun Night will be integrated with the other Special Populations program to provide an opportunity to have fun and socialize! We will offer gym sports, board games, Uno, puzzles, karaoke, and so much more!

Challenger Football

Challenger Football is a free flag football program for kids age 5 to 18 with special needs starting this April 28 through May 19. A parent meeting will be held at a later date to provide more information. Sign up to get notifications on it today!

Volunteer Coach & Buddies

We are always looking for coaches and "buddies" to play the game with the players. Our program can't run without the volunteerism of the community. To apply print, fill out and turn the form below into the Parks and Recreation office. Volunteer Application

Special Populations (Adult)

We offer an extensive program for our special populations who choose not to participate in the integrated recreation program. Prom

Dress in your finest attire, bring your best dance moves and enjoy another wonderful night at our Annual Prom!

Kansas State University (KSU) Baseball Game

One strike, two strikes, three strikes, you're out! We're giving it another shot and are hoping for good weather! KSU against West Virginia! Please dress accordingly! Some concessions provided.

Putt Putt Mini Golf

Mini-golf is just like regular golf except for a lot more fun! Enjoy 18 holes of putting fun with your Special Community!

Beach Party

It's time to soak up some sun and have some fun! Come enjoy an evening of fun, food, friends, and dancing!

Summer Picnic

Come join us for the Summer Picnic and water fun. We will have a picnic dinner then play in the "creek" and with water toys. Wear clothes that you can get wet in.

Cooking Class

Cooking classes are hands-on and teach skills in basic preparation of healthy, budget-friendly recipes. Each month, recipes follow a theme. Two items are prepared per class. This may not qualify as a meal.

Bowling Blast

Come and be a part of the bowling fun with your friends each Tuesday! In July, we will have our annual bowling tournament, be sure to look for it and sign up. It will be a separate weekend event.

Gardening

Let's grow some food, then learn how to use it! We start our garden crops in late February for the 2019 season. We hope to spend as much time outside as we can! Classes will be outdoors when temperatures are between 50-90 degrees Fahrenheit and it is NOT raining/severe weather warnings. Ithe f weather is above or below those temperatures, class will meet at the Community House indoor gardening room. Enrollment is available for once a week.

9 to 10 am | Saturdays | Community Garden | $1 per class

Arts & Crafts

Each week we continue to offer 2 to 3 craft choices, a coloring table, and a specialty arts table. Specialty arts include yarn art, ceramics/pottery, water color painting, and fabric art (sewing).
