Youth Choir

The MPRD Youth Choir rehearses weekly to prepare for two performances during the semester. Fun and exciting musical literature will include folk songs, world music, art music and a mix of other styles. Rehearsal will include time to prepare our music and learn fundamental music reading skills. No musical background is necessary.

Fall Youth Choir enrollment information will be available this summer.

Youth Theatre

Our Theatre program provides a performance opportunity for school-aged youth who have an interest in dramatic arts. The production provides students with creative and engaging theatrical experiences, as well as the opportunity to participate in live performances. Your young person must be the appropriate age by the first day of the program in order to participate.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

This year, we are pleased to offer a HUGE musical theatre program for all school-aged youth! We are very excited to announce our production of Beauty and the Beast, which will perform in McCain Auditorium on the K-State Campus. Because we will be working with such diverse age ranges, program dates and times will vary depending on your student’s age.

Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, Disney's Beauty and the Beast. This “tale as old as time” tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
